On Sunday, October 2nd, Ionia’s Mayor Dan Balice gave the send off speech for the 35th Annual CROP Walk in Ionia. Walkers from all over the community raised donation pledges to go towards stopping hunger.

The day began with a small get together that hosted good music, informational booths, bag decorating for IM Kids 3rd Meal, a world hunger map, and face painting. Walkers had the option to walk a one mile trail or a three mile trail.
Funds raised by the CROP Walk will benefit IM Kids 3rd Meal, Zion Food Bank, Saranac Community Church Food Pantry, and the Ionia Commission on Aging.
The CROP Walk is sponsored by Church World Service and the Ionia County Commission on Aging. The walk strives to bring attention to and end hunger at home and in the world at large.
