- A “Sell-By” date tells the store how long to display a product for sale.
- A “Best-By” date is the last date recommended for the use for best flavor our quality. It is NOT a purchase or safety date though.
- Product dates do not always refer to home storage and use after purchase.
- The USDA states “Food banks, other charitable organizations, and consumers should evaluate the quality of the product prior to its distribution and consumption to determine whether there are noticeable changes in wholesomeness.”
At IM Kids 3rd Meal we take pride in sending out healthy meals to our kids, and we do not send items out after date without personally checking that the quality meets our high standards.
